Photographic Reverie
Students: Lori Allan, Michael Hnatiuk, Estia Scott, Nicole Harrison Students created a series of photographic images that, upon viewing, aspire to encourage further reflection. Each image is a self-portrait and has a site, an environment to be explored. Scenes were set up and thought out, creating a mood and expressing a thematic intention of the artist. Thus, the photographer is the set designer is the subject matter is the digital editor. While some manipulation occurs in post-production with Photoshop or Light room, students also used the technology of the camera and strategic lighting to manipulate their images as they snapped the shutter. The final surrealist photographs possess subtleties in detail that give them a realistic look and feel, causing the viewer to question the veracity.
